CELESTIAL JAZZ
PERFORMANCE SERIES
This concert features internationally acclaimed jazz trumpeter, SEAN JONES, who has played with Wynton Marsalis, Marcus Miller, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Nancy Wilson and Dianne Reeves, among others. He will share the stage with the world renowned Curtis Lundy Legacy band to bring the spiritual offerings of jazz into the sacred majesty of the church.

Join us June 2nd, 8pm for a special event featuring world-class 4-piece jazz quartet on-stage in the dramatic and stunning main sanctuary at CENTRAL PARK COMPLEX.

Tickets are $40 General Admission, $35 PML Jazz Society Members.

"Music & spirituality have always been fully intertwined in the artistic vision of trumpeter, composer, educator and activist Sean Jones."


Citing Miles Davis & John Coltrane as early influences, serious schooling followed, and then guest artist positions with Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and mentorship from Wynton Marsalis. Sean is currently Artistic Director of both the Pittsburgh and Cleveland Jazz Orchestras and is working toward organizing the various Jazz orchestras throughout the US.


Sean Jones recently joined Berklee College of Music’s distinguished faculty as the Chair of the Brass Department, following teaching at Duquesne University and Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He loves being able to offer master classes and clinics, worldwide.

This is the second in the Celestial Jazz Series produced by the Pappy Martin Legacy Jazz Collective in showcasing the highest level of jazz musicianship and celebrating the cultural, historical and spirtual significance of jazz as an original American art form.

In May, 2017, the series was launched with a magnificent concert by the highly regarded saxophonist Bobby Watson who performned original music from his CD entitled, Made in America. The event received rave reviews!
